CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Blackhorse Pub & Brewery is expected to open any day now, marking the return of a downtown favorite after a year being closed for repairs.

Owner Jeff Robinson told Clarksville Now that while they expected to open on Thursday at 11 a.m., they are being delayed by a few final steps, so they might not be ready until later in the week.

The restaurant closed in March last year after a fire caused significant damage to the building. Originally, Robinson hoped to be open in time for the Blackhorse’s 30th anniversary on March 17.

What’s new

Robinson has used the rebuilding process to make some upgrades to the building, most of which are mechanical and will not be noticeable to patrons.

What will be noticeable, however, is the new ceiling in the taproom, which provides a much more open atmosphere. The kitchen and bathrooms have also gotten some upgrades.

The building’s exterior has gotten a fresh update with the 134 Franklin St. building being restored to its 1920s appearance.

Just as important as what’s changing is what will remain the same: The original vintage bar has returned to the downstairs dining room, and the upstairs pool room is back as well.
