BIRMINGHAM, AL – BBB Serving Central & South Alabama is issuing a warning for the online retailer Hero Tees (also known as Hero Products). Hero Tees is an online clothing retailer based in Anniston, AL that sells merchandise aimed at veterans, first responders and those who wish to support the armed forces.

BBB Serving Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky are sharing this alert because of complaints coming from our Middle Tennessee area and also on behalf of our local heroes from Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Hero Tees currently has an F-rating with the Better Business Bureau and has accumulated almost 200 complaints from consumers in 43 states, 150 of which are unanswered. The majority of these complaints were filed between March & August 2016. Most of these complaints exhibit a similar pattern: Complainants report ordering products from the business’ website, being charged for the order, but never receiving their products. Complainants also report that it is difficult to contact the business and phone calls and emails often go unanswered.

Many complainants report waiting upwards of six months from the time they originally placed their order with no communication from the business and no products delivered.

BBB attempted to contact the business multiple times regarding this pattern of complaints and to date has received no response.

According to the Hero Tees website (www.herotees.us and www.heroteesclub.com) the business creates “unique, custom shirt designs that can’t be found anywhere else! Hero Tees is part of a large online community dedicated to the men and women that protect, and enrich our great nation.”

The business’ website also states that the owner now makes all of the items at his home in Alabama after a previous problem with an outside screen printer.

Hero Tees currently has 16 customer reviews on its BBB Business Review, with 2 customers reporting a positive experience with the business and 14 reporting a negative experience.

BBB is advising consumers to be cautious when doing business with internet merchants that they’ve never dealt with before and to research online retailers prior to making a purchasing decision.
