CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Tuesday, April 23, the Austin Peay baseball team picked up their third consecutive win after defeating Middle Tennessee State University by a score of 16-10. APSU two-way player Lyle Miller-Green shined throughout the matchup after finishing the game with a program tying record three home runs. Miller-Green also knocked in 7 RBI’s during the contest.
In total, Austin Peay State University hit a total of seven home runs against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders on Tuesday, which marked the most home runs ever hit at Raymond C. Hand Park. According to APSU Athletics, the previous record was six home runs in 2017 against Western Illinois.
Following the team’s latest performance, the Governors now have 99 home runs during the 2023-24 season, which ranks third in the NCAA behind Georgia University (101) and University of Tennessee (111). As for Miller-Green, he is also ranked third in home runs in the nation with 23 on the season.
Austin Peay returns to A-SUN action this Friday for a three-game home series against Eastern Kentucky as they continue their quest to become A-SUN conference champions. Currently, they remain one game out from being tied for first place in the conference.
