CLARKSVILLE, TN – Local playwright Willie Pringle is inviting the community to take part in an upcoming stage production through open auditions for his new play, Where We Come From. The production, described as a family-centered theatrical experience, aims to bring together actors of all backgrounds to tell a powerful story centered on connection, identity, and real-life inspiration.
Auditions will take place on Wednesday, May 13, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Dynamic Six Country Club, 1770 Walnut Grove Road.
Pringle, who is also an author and certified peer recovery supervisor, says the goal of the production is to create something meaningful for the community while providing opportunities for local talent. “This is more than just a play. It’s a chance for people to be seen, heard, and part of something bigger,” Pringle said.
While the play itself is not autobiographical, it draws from award-winning storytelling connected to Pringle’s book, Another-Way: Living To Live Again.
Organizers say they are seeking actors of all ages and experience levels. No prior acting experience is required, and community members are encouraged to come out and participate. The production emphasizes inclusion, with a focus on building confidence, expressing creativity, and creating a shared experience through the arts.
“Clarksville has real talent,” Pringle added. “This is about giving people a platform and creating something the city can be proud of.”
