CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Art lovers will discover gifts with flair at the Downtown Artists Co-op during its 14th Annual DAC Holiday Exhibit and Bazaar.
“You might find something you love,” says area painter Gail Meyer, who will sell her popular paintings for as little as $60 per canvas. “We have a great time with this exhibit. We’ll have a lot of small, artful items that are great for gift giving.”
Located at 96 Franklin Street, the DAC gallery will be filled with holiday gifts throughout December. Among the items will be handcrafted jewelry, watercolor paintings, acrylic paintings, oil paintings, pastels, mixed-media paintings, hand-made jewelry, hand-painted silk scarves, 3-D artwork, photography, prints, cards and fabric art.

DAC president Shane Moore calls it “the best month of the year to visit DAC.”
He adds, “One can and will find hundreds of quality, hand-made, one-of-a-kind art works that will make those holiday gifts truly special.”
In addition to shopping for unique gifts, visitors can enjoy music by Red River Breeze during the First Thursday Art Walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 4. Appetizers, punch and wine will also be offered to guests during this reception.
Then on Saturday, Dec. 6 there will be an open house at DAC from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During this event David Magers will play live music from noon until 2 p.m. and cookies and cider will be served.
This annual holiday market has a tradition of featuring mostly smaller works of fine art by its members in an attempt to keep the prices reasonable for gift giving. The bazaar caters to all tastes, offering reasonably-priced jewelry and scarves that would appeal to a variety of women.
See DAC’s website at www.downtownartistsco-op.com or visit the group on Facebook for more information. Shopping hours during December are from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Proceeds from the bazaar help keep DAC in operation so that downtown will continue to be an eclectic, original area to shop year-round. Call for more information at 931-552-4747. DAC is now accepting credit cards.
The Holiday Exhibit and Bazaar is generously sponsored by F&M Bank, The FrameMaker and Sango Fine Wines and Spirits.
