Ann B. Hunter Raub, age 85, gently passed away on January 24, 2018 at NHC Cool Springs.

She was born July 28, 1932 in Clarksville, TN, daughter of the late Odie V. Bell and Edna Slayden Bell and sister of Howard W. Bell. In 1952, she was married to her husband of 41 years, Billy Ray Hunter until his passing in 1993. In 2001 she married John E. Raub until his passing in 2017.

She is survived by her son, David R (Jennifer) Hunter; niece, Penny (Tony) Bell Colby; nephew, Mark (Brenda) Bell; grandchildren Kayla (Tyler) Muniz, Robbie Murphy, and Jack Cahill; and great grandchild Paisley Muniz. Additional survivors include many cousins, in-laws, and family members from her own and husbands’ families.

Ann graduated from Clarksville High School and Bowling Green Business College. In 1950, she began her 44 year tenure as a secretary and administrative assistant to eight former Clarksville-Montgomery County school superintendents and directors. Co-workers, family members and friends remember her as a perfectionist in manners, skills, knowledge and appearance. Upon her retirement, the School Board meeting room was named in her honor. Miss Ann achieved many workplace accolades while also achieving excellence in her home life, contributing the same excellence to caring for her family and home. In her retirement, she was able to spend more time enjoying her meticulously maintained flower gardens, lawn and home. She also enjoyed travel and visiting friends.

Ann was a lifelong member of Forest Street United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, January 28, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Sonny Kim officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, and Sunday, January 28, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
