CLARKSVILLE, TN – The AKtion Club of Clarksville at Seasons Adult Center supported the local Key Clubs by walking for water! The Key Clubs across the country help sponsor Thirst Project, a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to end the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water.
Area Key Clubs sponsored a walk for water this month at Liberty Park. Due to pending bad weather, the AKtion Club decided to wait until Monday, and they walked in downtown Clarksville. The group was sponsored by the Hilldale Kiwanis club and raised over $100.
AKtion Club, Key Club, and Hilldale Kiwanis are all programs of Kiwanis International, the only civic organization to include a program for adults with special needs. Key Clubs are for high school students and there are clubs in most area high schools.
