CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Last week, the Montgomery County Adult Probation Department and Recovery Court partnered with The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation and 5 Star Media on their annual Stuff the Bus event.

On Saturday, July 27, three Adult Probation and Recovery Court employees and nine program participants worked with other volunteers to collect school supplies for the Teacher Warehouse, which equips CMCSS educators with school supplies. Several participants returned to help unstuff the bus on Monday, July 29.

Participants in the Recovery Court Program are required to do community service hours as a part of their agenda.

“We always seek to volunteer and do community service hours based on the impact we can have in the community with non-profit organizations,” said Sherry Robertson, Adult Probation & Recovery Court Director. “Stuff the Bus has been a perfect annual project for us. Not only does participating in this type of activity make a difference for the organization we are serving, it also makes a difference for our program’s participants, some who contribute more than the required hours because they discover they enjoy volunteering,”

In June, the entire Adult Probation and Recovery Court employee team supported Prepped for Success by helping to stuff 10,000 bags with school supplies. In May, staff and program participants loaded onions to support the annual Civitan Fundraiser.
