FORT CAMPBELL, KY. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Approximately 90 soldiers assigned to the 227th Composite Supply Company, 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will return home after a nine-month deployment to Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The Welcome Home Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, at Fort Campbell’s Hangar 3.
The 227th CSC supported the operation’s enhanced multinational training and security cooperation activities through the provision of petroleum distribution, water purification production and distribution, fuel storage, and laundry and shower support.
Soldiers produced more than 88,000 gallons of drinkable water in support of five intermediate staging bases throughout Swietoszow, Poland, and established two 120K fuel system supply points in Torun, Poland. Furthermore, 227 CSC assisted with equipment and material handling support and provided shower and laundry support for more than 6,000 soldiers from two U.S. Army brigades and armed forces from three European allied nations, during Saber Guardian and Saber Strike 2017.
Atlantic Resolve, which took place in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary, is a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to collective security through a series of actions designed to reassure NATO allies and partners of America’s dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region in light of the Russian intervention in Ukraine.
Exercise Saber Guardian 17 is a U.S. European Command, U.S. Army Europe-led annual exercise which took place in Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Saber Strike is a long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise that helps facilitate cooperation amongst the U.S., Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and allied and partner nations.
