CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Seven people have died from COVID-19 in Montgomery County during the last week, with 2 of those reported Saturday and 2 on Friday.
There was 1 death Wednesday and there were 2 on Tuesday, according to data provided by county Health Department Director Joey Smith.
Smith has said almost all of the deaths locally and statewide have been in the elderly and otherwise “vulnerable population,” and for that reason, it’s important to keep these groups safe from exposure to the coronavirus.
The seven-day average of new cases had been on a steady decline in Montgomery County since July 31. That metric hit a low point on Sept. 3 but has been rising just as steadily since then.
