CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A group of stranded tubers were rescued during a thunderstorm Friday afternoon on Big West Fork Creek near Billy Dunlop Park.

At 3:38 p.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue Station 10 was called to help the six-person group, who had put in at Robert Clark Park on Tiny Town Road with a local float trip company, according to a CFR report.

During the thunderstorm, the six individuals got out on the far bank, approximately a half-mile from Billy Dunlop Park. A two-man boat team was able to locate them by 4:15 p.m., CFR said. Rescue operations were initiated, and all six individuals and all CFR personnel were safely out of the water at 4:56 p.m.

There were no injuries reported, and no one required transport by EMS.
