CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – While about two dozen races were contested on this year’s Tennessee State Primary and Montgomery County General Election ballot, there were 26 candidates who sailed through without opposition.

Here are the candidates who made it through the Aug. 4 ballot uncontested. The candidates are identified as R (Republican), D (Democrat) or I (independent).

State Primary

These candidates were running in the State Primary Election. The party winners will now face each other in November.

US House, Dist. 7

  • Rep. Mark Green, the incumbent, is unopposed to be the Republican candidate.
  • Odessa Kelly is unopposed to be the Democrat candidate.
  • Steven Hooper is an independent who will be on the ballot.

TN Senate, Dist. 23

  • Sen. Kerry Roberts, incumbent, is unopposed as the Republican candidate.

TN House, Dist. 68

  • Rep. Curtis Johnson, incumbent, is unopposed to be the Republican candidate.
  • Monica Meeks is an independent who will be on the ballot.
