CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Christian Lady Centurions basketball team had two student-athletes surpass the 2,000-career point mark in recent weeks. Senior guard and FAMU signee Niah Rhodes surpassed 2,000 points against South Haven on Dec. 9, and sophomore forward Lauren Hassell, who is also one of the top recruits in the Class of 2027, surpassed the achievement at a tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky in January.
“Niah was one of the best shooters in Kentucky before joining our Lady Centurions CCS family; she’s also one of the best pure shooters I’ve had the privilege to coach,” said Lady Centurions head coach Trenton Hassell. “The impact she’s had on the team this year has been important to our continued success this season. She’s also an awesome young lady off the court, which makes her scoring over 2,000 (points) even more special.”

“We are also so proud of Lauren on surpassing 2,000 career points in her young career. It shows the work she puts in daily. It’s an incredible achievement, considering how unselfish she plays and the high level of competition she and her teammates face every season. Lauren has been blessed with great teammates who make accomplishments like this possible.”
Rhodes scored 2,000 points weeks after celebrating another major milestone — signing her National Letter of Intent to play NCAA Division-I basketball at Florida A&M University. With the season is still in full swing for Clarksville Christian, Rhodes and the Lady Centurions have their sights set on further success on the court.
Meanwhile, for Lauren Hassell, she has recently announced her top 12 colleges choices, which includes power five programs such as UConn, Baylor, Duke, Vanderbilt, Maryland and Louisville.
