CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two local wrestlers, Montgomery Central High School’s Audrey Levendusky and West Creek High School’s Ty Hutchens, both podiumed at Deep South Nationals in Birmingham, Alabama, with Levendusky winning both the Folkstyle and Freestyle wrestling divisions.
Levendusky, who competed for the Slingshot wrestling club, went 6-0 overall, including a last-second comeback win against a Fargo All-American, to earn both the Freestyle and Folkstyle titles. Levendusky defeated top opponents from Florida, Louisiana, Missouri and Tennessee.
Hutchens, competing for the Iron Knights Club in the Folkstyle division, went 6-1, running a gauntlet of some of the top talent from across the nation in wrestling. His lone loss was to a three-time Louisiana state champion, but he rebounded to earn a third-place finish in the consolation match.
Both Levendusky and Hutchens are going into their senior year of high school.
