CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Montgomery County has had its 12th COVID-19 death, along with 5 new hospitalizations reported since yesterday.

The death was announced by Joey Smith, Montgomery County Health Department director.

As of Tuesday, Aug. 4, there are now 935 active cases of COVID-19 reported locally, down from 961 on Monday.

Here are the rest of the local statistics as of Tuesday at 2 p.m.:

  • 1,744 lab confirmed and 8 probable cases for a total of 1,752 since March 6
  • 18 new cases today out of 219 new test results
  • 805 total recovered
  • 935 active cases
  • 12 deaths
  • 186 school-age cases (5-18)
  • 5 new hospitalizations
  • 79 total hospitalizations
  • 23,696 total negative lab results

How to get a free coronavirus test

Free COVID-19 testing is offered by the Montgomery County Health Department in a temporary location at Civitan Park, 650 Bellamy Lane, from 7 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday. Follow the signs to the drive-up testing site.
