CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Montgomery County has had two COVID-19 deaths in as many days, with an 11th person reported dying of the disease in data released Thursday.

The death was announced by Joey Smith, Montgomery County Health Department director. The 10th death was announced Wednesday.

As of Thursday, July 30, there are now 904 active cases of COVID-19 reported locally, up from 896 on Wednesday. We also have 2 new hospitalizations.

Here are the rest of the local statistics as of Thursday at 2 p.m.:

  • 1,568 total lab confirmed and probable cases since March 6
  • 44 new cases today out of 277 new test results
  • 653 total recovered
  • 11 total deaths (lab confirmed and probable)
  • 904 active cases
  • 2 new hospitalizations today
  • 68 total hospitalizations
  • 21,971 total negative lab results

How to get a free coronavirus test

Free COVID-19 testing is offered by the Montgomery County Health Department in a temporary location at Richview Middle School, 2350 Memorial Drive from 7 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday. Follow the signs to the drive-up testing site. On Monday, Aug. 3, testing moves to Civitan Park, 650 Bellamy Lane, with the same hours.
