CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The crash on Memorial Drive Extension Tuesday afternoon killed one person and injured two others.

At about 2:04 p.m. Tuesday, the crash occurred near Rushton Lane, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene, and two other individuals were airlifted to Nashville, where they remained in critical condition Wednesday morning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded and is assisting CPD’s Fatal Accident Crash Team with the ongoing investigation.

Due to the timing and location of the crash, there were initial concerns that it may have involved high school students, Beaubien said; however, that is not the case. The victim’s name will be released once next-of-kin notifications have been confirmed.
