CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Community School of the Arts at Austin Peay State University will be adding two levels of basic dance for children ages 5-10, ballet for ages 8 and up, a Parent and Me course for ages 3-5, two dance courses for adults, as well as a creative writing course for adults and teens to its fall schedule.

The APSU dance faculty, which helped to develop the new courses, will also be teaching them along with APSU dance students.

Teaching the creative writing classes will be local writer and APSU adjunct English instructor, Quincy Rhoads. According to an APSU press release, “These courses will help participants put his or her best ideas down on paper.”

The dance classes and the creative writing course for teens are open to the public, and will typically be twelve weeks long, beginning the first week of September. The creative writing class for adults lasts eight weeks and will meet on Saturdays, starting at the end of September.

Enrollment at APSU is not a requirement to participate.
