George Edward Craig, 80, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

George was born in Clayton, GA to the late Virgil Columbus Craig and Ina Cleo Holcomb Craig. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Jimmy Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.

George is a U.S. Army Veteran, having served twenty-two years in the military which included two tours in Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star while serving. He was an auto detailer with Matthews Nissan. He was an avid fisherman, active volunteer with Loaves and Fishes, and loved his vegetable garden.

George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Annie Craig of Clarksville, TN; son, Dennis (Kimberly) Craig of Clarksville, TN; two daughters, Lisa Davis and Donna Cranford of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Lloyd Craig and Jack Craig; three sisters, Ruth Parker, Nori Bingham, and Leo Smiley; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
