William David Scoggins of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Born December 11, 1949, Mr. Scoggins was preceded in death by his parents William Rayburn and Nell Katherine Scoggins of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Mr. Scoggins served his country as Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, was an avid fisherman and sportsman and employed by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority in Nashville, Tennessee retiring November 1, 2006.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McReynolds Nave & Larson funeral home on Friday, October 11. Funeral services to be held at McReynolds Nave & Larson funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, with burial to follow at 2 p.m. in Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, Kentucky.

Mr. Scoggins is survived by family members in Mayfield, Kentucky and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The family wishes to thank David’s close friends, Artie Manning and Ray Templeton, for their love and attention during his illness as well as homecare givers Shelia Roman and Lois Ann Howard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Gateway Hospice.
