Bobby J. Dozier, age 80, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
Bobby was born August 25, 1934 in Clarksville, TN, to the late Joseph Paul Dozier and Annie Mai Miller Dozier.
His two brothers, Roy Dozier and Howard; two sisters, Virginia Bailey and Charlotte Binkley, preceded him in death.
Mr. Dozier retired from Life and Casualty Insurance Company and in his later years worked for Joe Heitz Toyota in Clarksville. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. In 1972 he was instrumental in the formation and charter of Montgomery County Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Dozier Parks and his son Robert Elwin Dozier, both of Clarksville; one grandchild, Taylor Nicole Dozier; several nieces and nephews; his special companion, Jackie Prather Smith; Frances Haynes Dozier, mother of their children; a multitude of friends; his special lake family, whom he cherished; and his loving dog Benji.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 21 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. on Monday, September 22 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Greg Glover officiating.
The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society, P.O. Box 571, Clarksville, TN 37041; or to Loaves and Fishes, P.O. Box 3241, Clarksville, TN 37043.
