CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Athletics Director Sean Wilson has resigned from his position at Clarksville Academy, effective immediately.
Wilson has served in the role since 2024, according to a statement Tuesday from Clarksville Academy.
“At CA, we believe in offering a well-rounded and competitive athletics program,” said Jennifer Hinote, Head of School, in the statement. “Our student-athletes and coaches can count on continued support as we move forward, and we’re excited about the opportunity to bring in new leadership that will help our program grow even further. Athletics remain a cornerstone of the student experience here, and that isn’t changing.”
Clarksville Academy’s football program has been beset by problems this season, with only 12 players on the team. They’ve had to forfeit three of their games so far, and are set to return to play Friday, Oct. 2.
The Board of Trustees is “dedicated to a thoughtful process to attract and hire the strongest candidates for this role,” the statement said.
Middle School Athletics Coordinator Shannon Salyer will serve as interim director. She previously served as an AD in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. “While she is not interested in the position on a permanent basis, we are grateful for her leadership and experience during this transition,” the statement said. “We thank Sean for his service to Clarksville Academy and wish him well in future endeavors.”
