UPDATE: Interstate 24 traffic back to normal after wreck in Kentucky

Update: Traffic has returned to normal.

Update, 5:20 p.m.: Traffic has not improved and remains backed up to about mile marker 7.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A wreck just over the Kentucky state line has Interstate 24 traffic backed up for miles into Clarksville.

The wreck in the westbound lanes near Kentucky mile marker 92 has traffic backed up past Exits 1 and 4 almost to mile marker 7. I-24 is closed from the wreck site to just past Exit 89. According to emergency dispatch, crews are preparing to close I-24 at Exit 1.

The eastbound lanes are backed up to Exit 86.
