CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will be conducting scheduled load testing on the Zinc Plant Road bridge over the Cumberland River later this month. These tests are part of routine efforts to ensure the continued safety and structural integrity of the bridge.

Motorists traveling along Zinc Plant Road should expect temporary traffic disruptions during the testing period. Traffic control personnel will be present to assist with flagging operations and intermittent closures.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, March 23, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Temporary flagging operations for testing equipment setup.
  • Tuesday, March 24, 8 a.m. to noon. Temporary flagging for visual inspections.
  • Wednesday, March 25, 8 a.m. to noon. The road will be closed to all traffic during this time to allow crews to safely conduct load testing operations. Motorists should plan to use alternate routes.
  • Wednesday, March 25, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Temporary flagging operations for removal of testing equipment.
  • Thursday, March 26 will be reserved as a backup date in the event of inclement weather and will follow the same schedule as March 25 if required.

Drivers are encouraged to plan for delays and consider alternate routes if traveling in the area during these times. Please use caution in the work zone and follow all posted signage and instructions from traffic control personnel.
