CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Dr. Duana C. Hall, a retired U.S. Army captain and educator, has announced her candidacy for the District 7 seat on the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Board of Education.

Hall served more than 18 years in the Army in leadership roles spanning operations, logistics, human resources, training and patient administration. After retiring from military service, she continued supporting the Army as a senior operations analyst, training military units in advanced Warfighter tactics and large-scale operational planning. In that role, she said, she was one of only two female instructors among a team of 65 trainers responsible for preparing soldiers and commanders for complex combat operations.

A Clarksville resident for 16 years, Hall holds a Doctorate in Education with a focus on Leadership and Professional Development. Her dissertation examined the impact of military deployments on high school students.

Hall and her husband, retired Master Sgt. Maurice Hall, have deep ties to the community, including two children who graduated from Rossview High School and another who graduated from Austin Peay State University.

Hall said her campaign will focus on strengthening Clarksville’s public schools, so every student has the opportunity to succeed. Her priorities include supporting student wellbeing, ensuring educators receive competitive pay and meaningful support, and ensuring teachers have a voice in decisions that affect their classrooms.

She also emphasized the importance of protecting neighborhood public schools while ensuring that maintenance and improvements to existing facilities keep pace with the district’s growth. Hall supports expanding access to early childhood education, including universal pre-kindergarten opportunities, and investing in youth programs that provide opportunities and help prevent juvenile crime.

“Strong public schools are the foundation of a thriving Clarksville,” Hall said. “When schools, families and educators work together, students are better prepared for college, careers and real-world success.”
