CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High Lady Wildcats traveled to Bartlett High School in Memphis for a sub-state matchup with the Panthers, with the right to go to the state tournament on the line. The Panthers won 67-29, ending the Wildcats’ season, as well as the girls’ basketball season in Clarksville.
“Despite the result of tonight, I’m thankful for it all,” said Wildcats head coach Ellie Claus. “Thankful for the highs, lows, and everything in between. I’ve been blessed to be part of a team that goes beyond the court and truly feels like a family. I love my kids, I’m grateful for this season with them, and I look forward to next year.”
The Wildcats went 13-12 in their first year under Claus, winning their fifth straight district title and finishing as region runners-up. CHS will look forward to next season, as will all the other girls’ teams in Clarksville.
Which Clarksville area teams are left standing?
High school basketball isn’t over entirely yet, however, as both the Rossview High boys’ basketball team, and the Kirkwood High boys’ basketball team are set to play in a sub-state matchup on Monday.
Rossview will travel to Bartlett High School, while Kirkwood will host Whitehaven. Rossview was the last boys’ basketball team in the Clarksville area to qualify for the state tournament, back in 2024.
