CLARKSVILLE, TN – Sunday evening, over 100 Clarksville residents gathered at McGregor Park to honor the life of Renee Nicole Good, an American citizen killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minneapolis on Jan. 7.

The ICE Out For Good – Clarksville vigil opened with remarks from Joy Rice, according to a press release. She was followed by Raul Sangurima‑Quiles, who delivered a breakdown of the laws and protections he said were violated in Good’s case. Former City Councilperson Karen Reynolds followed with Good’s obituary. She reminded attendees that Good was a wife, a mother and a friend.

Latanya Jemison read a poem by Amanda Gorman in English, followed by Jeaneth Sangurima‑Quiles, who brought the same piece to life in Spanish.

“This is solidarity. This is people power,” organizers said. “Clarksville showed tonight that we will not look away. We will not be silent. We will honor Renee by demanding a world where every life is treated with dignity.”
