CLARKSVILLE, TN – Darden Copeland’s Campaign for Congress will be hosting town halls in each of the 14 counties of Congressional District 7 as part of the campaign’s “Fed Up Town Hall Tour”.

On Sunday, Sept. 21, Copeland will make a stop in Montgomery County at the Dixon Park Amphitheater. From 5-7 p.m., residents can drop in to hear from Copeland, ask questions, and be treated to a free dinner.

“My campaign is going to every county to listen to the voters and hear what matters to them”, Copeland said. Copeland is running in the upcoming special election to replace Rep. Mark Green in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, following Green’s resignation in July 2025.

Copeland’s “Fed Up Town Hall Tour” is taking place during a time when many members of Congress are avoiding town halls. “The last thing they want is to hear from voters. I want to serve the people of Middle Tennessee. So, the first thing I am going to do is go into each of the counties of Congressional District 7 and listen to what the people have to say,” Copeland added.

Key issues expected to be discussed during the tour include:

  • Lowering the cost of living and utility bills for working families
  • Strengthening rural economies and protecting family farms
  • Expanding access to affordable healthcare
  • Investing in infrastructure and education
  • Restoring transparency, accountability, and trust in government

At age 47, the campaign is Copeland’s first run for political office. “I’ve never been elected to anything except Elder at my church,” he said. “I’m not running to raise my profile; I’m running to raise the bar for our representatives.” Darden believes voters are tired of career candidates who put self-preservation before the lives of their constituents.
