CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Eggs Up Grill opened its doors right off of Tiny Town Road last month with the goal of being a restaurant where anybody can come have a good time, while also enjoying all-morning breakfast and brunch.

“Our motto is ‘Everything to make you smile.’ So, we want to provide good food, welcoming atmosphere, and a friendly staff,” co-owner Juanita Charles told Clarksville Now. Charles is in a partnership group among herself, K’prience London, Latonya Roberts and LaWanna Murray.

Charles attributed the opening of Eggs Up Grill to her nonprofit that she started back in 2019 called the Manifest Magic: Black Girl Cooperative.

“A part of that mission for that organization is economic empowerment,” Charles said. “We actually started an investment group, and over time, it’s kind of evolved. This is the largest product of that investment group.”

Charles said it was important for the group to focus in on bringing something unique to Clarksville. Another important feature of Eggs Up Grill is the opportunity they offer to single parents or anyone else challenged by having kids in school, Charles and London said.

“Our hours are only 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.,” Charles said. “For employees, the most you would work is 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. So, it’s an opportunity for us to give back to the community, because one of us (the owners) is a single parent.”

London said the hours are also beneficial for someone taking college classes.

Favorite menu items

Charles said shrimp and grits has been one customer favorite thus far; it’s an offering between traditional grits and garlic cheddar grits. In addition, Eggs Up Grill offers creme brulee french toast, variations of pancakes, chicken and waffles, and specialty coffee.

They also offer catering and a community room. “We intentionally built our space with a community room to be available for local businesses, churches, schools, etc.,” Charles said.

Eggs Up Grill is at 970 Tiny Town Road Suite A-B and is open 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Sunday. For more information, visit the Eggs Up Grill Clarksville website.
