CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The postseason is finally upon us for spring sports in the Clarksville area and while some teams are already deep into the playoffs, others are just getting their postseason journeys started. Let’s take a look at some storylines this postseason.
Third time’s a charm
For the third consecutive season, the West Creek High flag football team will face off against Montgomery Central in the city championship to decide who advances to the first-ever TSSAA flag football state tournament in Murfreesboro. The two teams had previously split the two previous championship matchups, however, an invitation to the state tournament is now on the line.
The Coyotes are currently undefeated on the season, while the Indians lone loss of the season came against West Creek. The city flag football championship is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Madness in the middle
In softball district 13-4A, the difference between the first overall seed and fourth seeded team was only a three-game differential. Northeast High and Rossview will kick things off in the district tournament as they will battle it out for a chance to extend their seasons.
Meanwhile, Clarksville High and Kirkwood have clinched their spots in the tournament as each Montgomery County team will also look to beat out Springfield High for the district crown.

All roads lead to Murfreesboro
Several Clarksville-area baseball teams have a chance to advance to the state tournament in the 2025 postseason.
Clarksville High is seeking their third consecutive state tournament appearance, while Rossview High is looking for their first state tournament appearance since they won it all back in 2018. However, before either team can worry about the state tournament, Northeast High and Kirkwood will get the chance to pull off two inner-city upsets in the district tourney.
On the other side of the region, Northwest, Kenwood and West Creek will try to upset the two favorites in district 14- 4A, Henry County and Dickson County. Lastly, Clarksville Academy looks to rebound after falling in the district championship to Davidson Academy in their last game.

Potential upsets on the pitch
Soccer in Clarksville has been a very competitive watch this year. Rossview, who is coming off a state tournament appearance, won the regular season district championship in district 13. Still, Clarksville High and Kirkwood both gave them fits and will look to end their season much earlier this time around.
In district 14, the West Creek Coyotes are set to defend their district crown, while Northwest and Kenwood High are set to fight for a spot in the district tournament on Thursday. With the one-and-done style of the soccer tournaments, it’s shaping out to be a fun postseason.
