Clarksville, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Christian two-way player Anna Cheasty has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her performance against Franklin Road, where she went perfect at the plate and pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts.

In the Centurions win during the week of April 7, the freshman left her mark on the game as she went 2 for 2 at the plate with 2 RBI’s, 2 runs scored, as well as 2 walks. Meanwhile, on the mound, she struck out 12 batters across seven innings and earned the victory.

“There are not many players around with Anna Cheasty’s work ethic,” said Clarksville Christian head coach Travis Cocke. “When she decided to join us at Clarksville Christian, I knew her dedication to the sport would immediately migrate to the rest of the squad. She is a humble but fierce competitor who leads by example and lives for the tough moments in the game.

“So far this season, she has 49 Ks, but she will give all the credit to her teammates for that accomplishment. That’s a very mature viewpoint for a freshman. We are very proud of her at CCS, and I look forward to watching her growth over the next 4 years.”

“Being Player of the Week is an honor and a blessing, which I am grateful for; however, softball is not only just about playing the sport that I love, but also about who you play with,” Cheasty told Clarksville Now. “I am so blessed to have the opportunity to play with these special girls at CCS and to have dedicated coaches who care about me. They have definitely made my softball season a hundred times better than it could ever be. God has definitely blessed me this year. “
