“We made a few mistakes, but my guys didn’t get down,” said Fort Campbell Head coach John Hardwick. “I’m proud of our guys for showing fight. We just have to solidify our pitching and back him up by cutting down on errors, and I think we’ll be all right.”
Fort Campbell managed to scratch one run across in the top of the third, but it was too little too late, and the Vikings earned a big-time win in five innings.
For Northwest, it could be the jumping-off point for a winning streak heading into April.
“We’ve struggled to put a complete game together this year, but we did tonight,” said Vikings head coach Chris Benne. “If we throw the ball well early, and keep that going, we can be a really good team. We just have to continue to play good defense, that’s what matters to us.”
