Update, 11:25 a.m.: The first storm should hit Clarksville late Friday night between midnight and 2 a.m., the NWS said in an 11 a.m. update.

At this point, there’s a 30%-44% chance of severe wind of 58 mph or more in Clarksville, with straight-line winds over 75 mph possible.

There’s a 15%-29% chance of hail greater than 1 inch in diameter, and a slight chance of a tornado.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two waves of storms are moving through the area this weekend, and the first one carries the most risk for Clarksville.

For the first wave, late Friday and overnight, there’s a 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms, and the storms could be severe, according to the National Weather Service. The primary threats are damaging straight-line winds, but a few tornadoes are possible, along with large hail.

For the second wave, on Saturday and Saturday night, there’s a 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms that could become severe. Again, the primary threats are damaging straight-line winds, but a few tornadoes are possible along with large hail, the NWS said. The timing is uncertain.

Through the weekend, Clarksville could get 2-3 inches of rainfall, which could lead to flooding.

  • Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 58. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. West northwest wind around 5 mph.
