Update, 2:30 p.m.: Expected severe thunderstorms should hit Clarksville between 6 and 8 p.m., according to the NWS.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Strong winds are expected Tuesday, Tuesday night and into Wednesday with gusts of 35 to 50 mph and a medium chance that gusts will exceed 50 mph.

Middle Tennessee is under a National Weather Service Wind Advisory from noon Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday.

“These strong winds can blow away lightweight and loose outdoor objects, down trees and tree branches, and cause sporadic power outages,” the NWS said. “Secure any outdoor objects now and use caution if driving today, especially on east-west oriented roads.”

There’s also a high chance of thunderstorms Tuesday evening.
