CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Waking up on Wednesday morning, the wind chill in Montgomery County is causing single digit temperatures. With inches of snow covering the ground from the overnight storm, temperatures are only expected to rise to 27 degrees, with wind gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight, temperatures will plummet to 8 degrees with a wind chill value as low as -3, according to the National Weather Service. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect midnight tonight until 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Road conditions

Government offices throughout Clarksville are closed due to snow, including the library, Parks and Recreation facilities, and City Hall. CMCSS schools are also closed. Residents are encouraged to contact businesses ahead of time to confirm openings.

Early Wednesday morning, the Clarksville Police Department shared that roads are very hazardous and had several crashes throughout the night, according to previous reports. Due to the conditions, CPD, as well as the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, asks residents to stay home if possible.

Some main roads have already been cleared by snowplows, but slush and ice still make driving hazardous. Back roads and neighborhoods may still be covered.
