Update, 8 p.m.: The roadway is back open, but traffic through the area remains congested.
Update, 6:50 p.m.: The vehicles involved were a two-toned Ford Expedition and a white Nissan Cube.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One person was critically injured in a wreck Thursday night on Providence Boulevard.
At about 5:37 p.m., the vehicles crashed at Boot Hill near Taco Bell, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle and was being flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter.
The crash is causing traffic congestion, and the northbound lanes of Providence are shut down. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared.
