CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One person was killed and another escaped from a house fire on Calvert Drive, off Britton Springs Road in northwest Clarksville, on Sunday.
Sunday morning, Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a house fire call in the 900 block of Calvert, according to a news release from MCSO spokesman Lt. Bishop Delaney.
One occupant was able to exit the home. Two deputies were first on the scene and tried to rescue the other occupant, but that person did not survive.
The deputies were evaluated on scene for heat exposure and smoke inhalation, and one was transported to the hospital for evaluation, Delaney said.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the incident is still under investigation.
