CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Leatherwood Distillery is planning a new location, this one in downtown Clarksville just down the hill from Shelby’s Trio and across the street from the upcoming DoubleTree By Hilton.

The proposed distillery would be located at 119 College St., which sits at the intersection of North Spring Street and College Street. Site plans recently submitted to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission show a 8,423-square-foot building on about 1.32 acres.

The building would have about 200 seats with a tasting room, two open patio areas, an open deck and a party room. In addition, the distillery would be in the lower level, alongside an area for product storage. The exterior would include pavilions, walking trails and benches.

Joe Maynard, who purchased half of the ownership of Leatherwood Distillery in October, told Clarksville Now, “My partner Andy Lang and I look to expand the distillery and become a regional, if not national, brand over the next few years. We believe that the addition of a second site and the venue that will help us with tourism, is a positive for the distillery and downtown Clarksville.”

The new location will include tours and some live music on the weekends, Maynard said.
