If your kids love comics or manga, or if you do for that matter, you’ll want to check out the Summer Reading Program going on right now at Rick’s Comic City.
The idea started with employee Rachel Toler, who gave it a try at the Clarksville store, and the program was a huge hit!

The idea is that readers of all ages can buy six book (retail $15 or under) at 10% off and then get a free book or toy (retail $15 or under). The books can be manga, trade paperbacks, comic collections – anything but monthly comics. Participants get a punch-card to keep track of their purchases.
“We have a lot of kids that look forward to it every summer, and some pick up all of their books at the same time,” Toler said.
For those who like surprises, instead of a free book or toy, you can get a free mystery bundle pack.

It can also include books for kids just learning to read, with plenty of Level 1, 2 or 3 readers. And while most of the participants are teens looking for the latest manga book, “adults get into it as well,” Toler said.
The Summer Reading Program at Rick’s Comic City continues until the first half-day of school, Aug. 7.
Rick’s Comic City is at 1923 Madison St., Suite H., and they’re open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
