CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Salvation Army in Clarksville is pleased to welcome a new leader, Maj. Kati Chase. She assumed her position on Nov. 7 and has quickly settled into her new surroundings and is looking forward to getting to know the community and moving forward the ministry of The Salvation Army.

Salvation Army officers are periodically transferred to different locations, typically every 3-5 years. Chase is an enthusiastic and dynamic leader and comes to Clarksville from Maryville, where for the last two years she was responsible for the programs and services of the Maryville Salvation Army.

Chase has served as a Salvation Army officer for the past 15 years, in locations such as West Virginia, Tampa, FL, Jackson, MS, Morehead City, NC, and Washington, DC. She is very passionate about the mission of The Salvation Army. In her prior appointments, youth programming has been one of her special interests, and she even ran the summer camp for The Salvation Army in Florida for some time. In her spare time, Chase enjoys rooting for the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Atlanta Braves, and also enjoys crocheting. She is bringing her cat Mattie with her to Clarksville as well

“It has been exciting to meet the people of Clarksville and discover the many opportunities for ministry here,” said Chase. “I look forward to meeting the needs of this community and ‘Doing The Most Good’ alongside the staff, volunteers and supporters of The Salvation Army.”

Chase is responsible for all church programs and social services at The Salvation Army. Her top priorities in Clarksville are to build greater community support and knowledge of The Salvation Army’s services and to build the Advisory Board. “I also want to be a faithful steward of the resources that our community has entrusted to us so that they know that we are doing all that we can to ‘Do The Most Good’ in our community,” said Chase.

“Many people don’t realize that The Salvation Army is a church,” said Chase. “We invite everyone to join us for worship each Sunday at 11 a.m., at The Salvation Army, located at 208 Kraft St., here in Clarksville. We look forward to meeting you soon!”
