CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Chris Jones has announced he is running for City Council, Ward 6.
He said he believe “service” is an action verb, and members of the community want to feel like their interest as a whole is being represented.
Jones hails from Detroit and spent his youth living in Ward 6, from Lincoln Homes one street away from Summit Heights, and he currently resides on Main Street.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Fisk University.
He served his country as a noncommissioned officer and commissioned officer in the Army with multiple combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. He earned a Presidential Management Fellowship under the Obama administration as an online media manager. He served as an operations and advancement officer for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, then became a lobbyist for America’s Promise Alliance, here he was mentored by the late Gen. Colin L. Powell. Chris also served as director of military and veteran programs for Hope for the Warriors, an organization helping post 9/11 veterans.
Chris currently works as a biomedical engineer at Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville.
He is the father of three children.
Ward 6 encompasses Madison Street, North and South Riverside Drive, Kraft Street, Paradise Hill Road and Crossland Avenue.
