CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Voting begins Wednesday for the Montgomery County Primary, but only four of those races are contested and only on the Republican ballot: county mayor, district attorney and two judges.
The May 3 election, with early voting starting April 13, will be a party primary to select party nominees. On Aug. 4, those party winners will run against one another and any independents. Here’s the full list of candidates in uncontested May races, along with August independents.

The Republican Primary has four contested races:
County Mayor

Early voting will be April 13-28 at the Election Commission office, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404, on this schedule:
Week 1
- April 13, Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 14, Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 15, Friday: Closed for Good Friday holiday
- April 16, Saturday: 8 a.m. to noon
Week 2
- April 18, Monday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 19, Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 20, Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 21, Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 22, Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 23, Saturday: 8 a.m. to noon
Week 3
- April 25, Monday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 26, Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You will be asked whether you want a Republican or Democratic ballot. You will have to show your driver’s license or other state or federal photo ID.
Primary election day voting will be May 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the results will be announced that night on Clarksville Now.
