James “J.P.” Paschal Davis, age 83, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at his residence.
Davis was born April 10, 1938, in Clarksville, Tenn, to the late Horace and Katherine Johnson Davis. He was born and raised in Clarksville, in the well-known Vinegar Bottom area. He also lived in Germantown, while working in the field of aircraft maintenance and retired from Republic Airlines and returned to his hometown in 1993.
J.P. was deeply devoted to his wife Lucille and cared for his step-son, Bo, as his own. Davis was an active member of the Pardue Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. He was a US Navy veteran.
Davis is survived by brother William Donald Davis, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by wife, Lucille Fuqua Bennett Davis, stepson James “Bo” Bennett, sister Dorothy Marie Mann and sister Wanda Sue Gattis.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 20, from 2 to 6 p.m.. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 21, at 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Reverend Jason Bell and Pastor Louie Montoya officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the Pardue Memorial Free Will Baptist Church, with honorary pallbearers Jaxon and Jakob Stewart.
