CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay State University hosted its fifth annual Govs Give charity campaign to raise money for supporting student life, and they created a new record for themselves at over $450,000, which far exceeds their previous record of $325,000 back in 2018.

In commemoration of this, several deans were slimed in a challenge for raising equal to or more than their goal of $15,000 each.

The ones who were slimed were Dean Karen Meisch with STEM; Tucker Brown, the dean of the College of Behavioral Sciences; Prentice Chandler, the dean of the Eriksson College of Education; Dean Barry Jones with the College of Arts and Letters; Mickey Hepner, the dean of the College of Business; and Kris Phillips, the vice president of University Advancement.

“Our Govs Give giving goal was $15,000, and we raised $38,000,” Hepner told Clarksville Now.

President Mike Licari said that he was touched by the giving spirit of all those who made this milestone possible.

“It just represents the strength of the university, the strength of the bond between the university and the community, and so I’m just so grateful for the support of all of our donors.”
