A Celebration of Life service for Carlene Dawson Shepherd, age 84 of Cunningham, will be Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Proctor will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 4 p.m.- 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Carlene passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. She was born on August 9, 1936, in Davidson County, Tn to Carl and Sarah Conatser Dawson. She was a member of Louise Methodist Church. Carlene enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, gardening, trips to Gatlinburg, and the occasional gossip session.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Wesley Shepherd; and son, Johnny Shepherd. She is survived by her son, James Shepherd; siblings: Linda, Bonnie, Kathryn, Norman, and Ronald; grandson, Wesley (Christina) Shepherd; granddaughter, Joanna (Jesse) Ferrell; and 6 great-grandchildren.
