Wilbur Thomas Lewis, age 77 of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021, at Lewis Cemetery with Pastors Daniel Medders and Ray Bradley officiating.
Wilbur entered this life on September 3, 1943, in Cumberland City, TN, son to the late James “Jimmy” and Etta Lyle Lewis. Upon leaving high school, Wilbur spent a brief period working as an equipment operator in the construction industry before quickly turning his attention to business. Wilbur was the owner-operator of Lewis Texaco, owned and operated a local car wash, and owned and managed real estate properties throughout Houston County. As the successful owner of Lewis Auto Sales, his love was cars and he sold lots of them. He will be dearly missed by his family and his community.
In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mike McAskill; siblings, Luther “Zip” Lewis, J.E. Lewis, and Margaret Ann Lewis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon Lewis; children, Kris McAskill, and Kim Lewis (Mary Todd). Wilbur also leaves behind his grandchildren, Heather Pulley (Nate), Zach McAskill (Hannah), Gavin Lewis, Mary Kate Lewis; great-grandchildren, Nathan Pulley, Natalie Ann Pulley, and Finley Kate McAskill.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Gill, Cary Rye, Albert Mitchum, Tommy Mitchell, Dr. Douglas Ligon, Sam Fussell, Teddy Jo Wallace, and Chucky Arnold. Eddie Ramey will serve as honorary pallbearer.
