Sunday night as I watched the weather, I thought, “sure we’re going to get ice, that’s what you said last time.”
However, while I slept all warm and cozy that night and Clarksville got its share of winter precipitation, our Clarksville Street Department was working hard to make sure our streets were as clear as possible. This is no small feat when you are fighting against six inches of sleet.
Additionally, CDE and CEMC have done an amazing job to ensure that our power stayed on. As a citizen of Clarksville I am grateful and want to thank our Clarksville Street Department, CDE, and CEMC for the hours you have put in this week keeping our roads safe and our homes warm.
I realize that while we were enjoying our families you were working on our behalf away from your families. These dedicated citizens of Clarksville have put many hours in this week and deserve our gratitude. I know I have missed others that deserve recognition but I hope that everyone will join me in appreciating the sacrifices these city and county employees and public servants have done for our community.
