Robert “Bob” Wayne Jones, age 80, of Clarksville, went Home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Tennova Healthcare.
Robert was born August 26, 1940, in Careta, WV, to the late William Gratton Jones and Roma Sparks Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sue Jones.
He was a retired US Army Ranger, having served from 1958 to 1978, during which time he attained three Silver Stars and seven Bronze Stars with V Devices. Mr. Jones later worked in Real Estate until his retirement.
Bob/Poppy was a man of great strength and compassion. He loved endlessly and cared deeply for all. He was kind and generous to anyone that knew him. Bob enjoyed dancing, road trips, fishing, woodworking, and Titans football.
He will be interred at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, at a later date.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Alida Jones; daughter, Roma Herrington; son, Robert Jones and wife Becky; and three grandchildren, Bradley Jones, Caitlyn Herrington, and Tessa Luntz and husband Austin.
