CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Downtown @ Sundown returned to the Clarksville Commons this weekend following a long hiatus due to COVID-19 concerns.

The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in many of Clarksville’s usual summer events and gatherings being altered or canceled, including many of the beloved live music performances at the Downtown Commons.

The first of two Downtown@Sundown concerts scheduled for this month featured country artists Tyler Booth and Jerrod Nieman. As in years past, food trucks were available on-site throughout the night, offering a variety of local dining options to hungry concertgoers.

New this year was the addition of a thermal scanner at the concert entrance, hand sanitizer and masks available for all to use. Signs promoting social distancing were posted all around the park reminding groups to stay six feet apart at all times.

The next Downtown@Sundown Concert is scheduled for October 16, 2020, with 1950s Rock n’ Roll Tribute Band “Good Rockin’ Tonight” taking the stage at Downtown Commons. Guests will once again have to bring masks and get their temperatures taken before being permitted to enter the venue. This concert will conclude the concert series for the season, so be sure to mark your calendar if you want to attend.
