CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of thunderstorms with high winds and heavy rain later Thursday, March 19 and into the early morning hours Friday.
“There could be some strong storms, maybe even a couple of severe storms just like the previous events we’ve had. We want to remind people to have a way to get warnings in the middle of the night to wake them up,” said Sam Herron, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Nashville.
Tonight’s low will be around 66 with a quarter to a half-inch of rain and wind gusts between 25 and 35 mph.
Much of Western Kentucky remains under a Flash Flood Watch until 7 a.m. Friday morning.
For protection from those nighttime storms, Herron encouraged everyone to be prepared by making sure they have a weather radio with working batteries and an app on their cell phone to notify them of severe weather.
